Jeffrey Bezos is an American technology entrepreneur, investor, and philanthropist. He is best known as the founder, chairman, and CEO of Amazon.

On July 27, 2017, he became the world’s wealthiest person when his estimated net worth increased to just over $90 billion. His wealth surpassed $100 billion for the first time on November 24, he was formally designated the wealthiest person in the world by Forbes on March 6, 2018 with a net worth of $112 billion. The first centi-billionaire on the Forbes wealth index, he was designated the “wealthiest person in modern history” after his net worth increased to $150 billion in July 2018.

Story of success

Before Amazon, Jeff was a financial specialist and worked in various positions on Wall Street. Engaged in developing a network for international trade. Later, he took the position of vice president at D. E. Shaw & Co, from which he left for Amazon, founded by him, with an initial investment of 300 thousand dollars. The site was launched on July 16, 1995, and initially focused on selling books. It is currently the largest e-commerce company in the world, as well as the world’s largest cloud service provider through Amazon Web Services. In 1997, successfully entered the IPO. In 1999, Jack Baseless became the man of the year according to Time magazine.

In September 2000, Bezos founded Blue Origin, a human spaceflight startup company. Bezos has long expressed an interest in space travel and the development of human life in the solar system. He was the valedictorian when he graduated from high school in 1982. His speech was followed up with a Miami Herald interview in which he expressed an interest to build and develop hotels, amusement parks, and colonies for human beings who were in orbit. The 18-year-old Bezos stated that he wanted to preserve Earth from overuse through resource depletion.


Jeff graduated from Priston University and has degrees in electrical engineering and computer technology.


Jeff starred in one of the scenes of the movie Startrek, appearing on the screen in the image of an alien. At birth, his last name was Jorgensen, but when the boy was 4 years old, his mother married Cuban immigrant Miguel Bezos, who adopted him and gave him the name Bezos.


Married to MacKenzie Bezos. They met in 1993 at investment firm D.E. Shaw, where she was an analyst, and he was a vice president. He himself hired her to work. Jeff always said that he wanted to marry a resourceful girl, but she turned out to be not only resourceful but also courageous, inviting him to lunch, 6 months after which they got married. She first found out about his idea with Amazon and supported him, leaving with him. The couple have three of their own and one adopted child. Today, the spouse of the richest and most influential Bezos writes books, is engaged in charity and support of people suffering from bullying (aggressive persecution of one of the team members).
